Dear Diary,
PARIS!! Yes, Paris. Yes, I went to Paris.
I can't believe that the last time I wrote in you was so long ago. Before the end of the last school year!! Well, I got Acceptable or better in all my classes. And Dad made good on his promise to send me to Paris, without him, and WITH Alanna.
IT WAS A BLAST! Not only that, I got some cool clothes. I even got black leathers for MY MOTORCYCLE that Dad got me. Well, I got the leathers first, because I didn't know Dad was gonna get me a motorcycle but they look really good on me, in other words, somehow they make me look hot and that is a good thing BECAUSE Alanna's cousin FRED was there in Paris towards the end of our trip.
We were only going to be there for a week and somehow it extended to a month. I swear that I didn't know there was so much in and around Paris that would be interesting. But there are ruins that are really old, and there are vineyards and there are museums and, yes, there are shops. Lots and lots of stores that have wonderful clothes. There's even a version of Diagon Alley there; it is sort of hidden from the Muggles and there are clothes and sporting goods (ie broomsticks!) and joke shops and a wand shop.
I ended up getting a new wand. I couldn't believe that I'd ever want anything besides my 9 1/4 inch walnut and unicorn hair wand, but this wand sort of gleamed at me, through its box. So I asked what was in that box (pointing to it to the owner of the store) and she went and got it and it's a 9 1/4 inch holly with thestral hair wand. And... I had to have it. It like GLOWED at me... so weird. Almost like magic.... HAHAHAHAAA...
Anyway, so lots of new clothes and a new wand and no new broomstick because I wanted a Firebolt (of course) and it cost just too many galleons... besides I love my Twigger 90. I've had it now for ? GEE I'm in my 5th year this year. Which means I've had my broom forever. Four years anyway. Maybe 3, I got it at the beginning of my 2nd year? Yeah, my math skills suck...
And Fred showed up, in the last week there. He said he was looking for Alanna because she'd said she'd be back in a week or two and when she was missing after 3 weeks he figured he better find her and see what trouble she was in. (Oddly enough, when he said that she blushed bright red... and I wondered just what she had done before that 1) he'd come looking for her and 2) that she'd blush so much about. I figure she got caught by Muggle police or something and needed to get out of jail without apparating to cover her Muggle aleby..that's not right... alibi. Yeah alibi.)
So when Fred showed up we all went around Paris and even went into the mountains. Alanna and I had pretty much shopped ourselves out by 3 weeks and were ready to go exploring. So we did a lot of hiking that last week. It sure was pretty.
Then we had to come home again and... yes, you guessed it. Dad had gotten me this motorcycle. It's an old motorcycle but IT RUNS! So I learned to ride it kind of and now can start it up and stop it and turn and change gears and all of that without it falling over and without me falling off.
Dad laughed and laughed when he first watched me learning how to ride it. Alanna was the one to teach me how to run it, by the way. Anyway, Dad laughed so hard watching me that tears were running down his face. He went and got some huge pillows and strapped them around me... (I'm pretty sure he put some impervius spells on them because they never ripped up or anything, not even when I was skidding along 20 miles an hour without the bike....)
And that was my summer. Shopping, hiking and then home and riding a bike. Learning to ride a bike? A fun summer.
Now here I am back at Hogwarts... and to my huge surprise, I'm loving it. Sure, and now I have the OWLs to... look forward to. But that's not until the end of this year so... PARTY TIME!
OH. Skalawag... isn't with me right now. She ended up having Kneazle cross puppies ... KITTENS a few weeks ago. Dad says I can come get her in a couple more weeks though. Already the 3 babies are spoken for! This is good.
And Fred? Oh, I didn't say anything about Fred? .... hmmm I didn't did I?
