My Jedi Journal - Year 2

I've been writing in you now regularly — at least once every few days. And now, already we're in November. Well, today's entry is all about

I LOVE MY BROOM!!! I LOVE MY BROOM!!!

Okay, it's not ALL about that, but I really do love my Twigger 90! Today we played Gryffindor and I actually scored! YES! I love my broom!

I know I've already written in you about being accepted on the Quidditch team and how poorly I fly compared to all those other folks who have been flying on broomsticks since they were 3 feet high but I'm still pretty good at throwing things. And today I got to play; I was put in as a Chaser, I think mostly just to get me used to being in a game because the others are so good and the Captain wanted his new players to get used to the crowd and stuff like that. So I was kind of just 'there' and trying to stay on my broomstick while the others zoomed by me....

And we were practicing that toss the Quaffle thing down by the goal hoops and suddenly I was right there and the Gryffindor Keeper was over by the 3rd hoop away from me and I THREW the Quaffle and it went through the goal hoop and I SCORED! And my lovely wonderful Twigger 90 stayed SO STILL in the air even without my hands on it that I could just throw it straight and hard and fast — zip — SCORE!

I almost fell off my lovely broomstick right then and there! After scoring!

I did fall off a bit later when I ducked a bludger and tried for the starfish-and-stick and kind of forgot to hang onto the handle with my foot &mash; oh, well. That turned out okay anyway because I only fell about 10 feet and the Gryffindor Keeper was laughing so hard that she was crying, and so our Chaser scored. Ha ha! Good thing I was covered with mud, because I was blushing so red that I'm sure I'd have looked like I had a huge sunburn if anyone could have seen my skin.

Have I mentioned I love my broom? After I fell off and was lying in the mud, my wonderful broom came wafting down straight to me and kind of perched on the air, waiting for me to get back on.

Oh, yeah, we won the game. It was all tied up for ages and then our Seeker caught the Snitch so we won by 150 points.

Then, for dinner we had one of my favourite desserts — chocolate mousse. So, it was just a perfect day.

Good night, Diary.
