Hair Care and Styles

By Karen Thompson

My name is Karen Thompson, and I am a first year Gryffindor. The title pretty much explains what this article is going to be about. Just to start off, I want all the readers to know that I do not work, or am partnered with any company, and I do no work in a professional hair salon. These hair "How-To's" are what I try, and none of the companies mentioned know that I am putting their products into my tutorials. These are my opinions, and if I talk about a product, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to use that particular brand or line. Any other brand of the same hair product is also good. Too much? Let's get started then!

The hairstyles you would want are simple, and quick for everyday styles! I am an average teenager who just loves working with hair! Even though I love experimenting with hair products and hair tools, I also like to keep my hair healthy. So I just want to say that before you add any heat or style your hair, use either a heat protector serum or a styling spray. What I use as a heat protector is "Fantasia's" 'Hair Polisher' line, and the name of the serum is 'Straightener Serum'. It works very well, and usually you can get it in any hair product stores. I have not found this brand in drugstores, but I assure you, it works wonders. Any other straightening serum will work well too.

Before I style my hair, I put on a hairspray, which is designed to be applied before you use any other type of product on your hair. Not only does it protect your hair from being damaged, but also helps you keep your style throughout the day. I use 'Marc Daniels' Daily Replenish, Style & Treat. This product is also not usually found in drugstores, although it is an Australian company, so you might find it more often there. I got this from a beauty sale they were having at this warehouse, and I tried it out. It worked great on my hair, and some of my friends' too.

Usually, to finish my hair-do off, I use "Garnier's" line Fructis Styles, Hold & Flex. I use the Ultra Strong (based form 1-5, I use 5) because my hair is frizzy and hard to hold. If you straighten your hair, you may know that if your hair gets wet, it curls back to its usual form. This is not a liquid, rather a type of gas, or spray and therefore not damaging your hairstyle. If your hair tends not to frizz up as much, a liquid holder will do fine as well.

Once again, the products are not the only ones available in the market, and any hair product in another brand will do just a well. I am not advertising these products.
