An Interview With Hufflepuff's Newest Prefects

By Hermionie Miranda

Wizards and witches from all afar! I would like to present to you Hufflepuff's newest Prefects, Katelin Ross and Zoki Phantom. I would like to thank Katelin and Zoki for their wonderful answers, and I wish them a great time as Prefects! So... enough with this introduction; let's just get on with it! Enjoy!

When you were first asked if you would like to become a prefect what were your thoughts?

Katelin: When I was first asked if I wanted to become a Prefect, I felt honored! I was very excited and knew right away that this was something I was going to do!

Zoki: I'm not sure what my thoughts were, but I know what my sounds were — squeeing. Lots and lots of squeeing, like when you buy a small child the toy that he's been crying for so long. And since I've had HOL-related dreams previously, I had to double-check that I wasn't dreaming by biting my finger. I wasn't dreaming! \o/

What have you done so far since you've become a prefect?

Katelin: I have done many things around the Sett since becoming a Prefect. My main job right now is to help out and answer any newbie questions. My other jobs, as Prefect, are just about to start. I was also involved with a certain Hufflepuff activity.

Zoki: Well, I helped out with a certain Huff activity, I've been trying to as helpful as I can to all the newbies, and I've been editing inappropriate posts (links and such). Though my real duties are just about to start, they'll be growing as the school year goes on.

What are the duties of a prefect?

Katelin: The duties of a Prefect are to assist other Prefects/Head Students/Professors/DHoH/HoH as needed, assist and help newbies make their way around the Sett and around HOL, and special duties and assignments to be announced soon.

Zoki: Knowing my way around HOL and the Sett, and making sure things are the way they should be. I get to check people's posts and profiles, I get to help them when they need help, I get to help out with activities and secret staff things, and much more fun things.

What do you think that you did made you seem like a great candidate for a prefect?

Katelin: I think my personality (my kindness, being helpful to all, following the rules, friendliness) made me a perfect person for Prefectship.

Zoki: I was active. Especially in my last year I was honestly very active. I participated and helped out as much as I could around HOL. I'm not sure how my future years will be, but I think I'll definitely miss my third year around here.

How are you liking the experience?

Katelin: I have really enjoyed the experience so far!

Zoki: So far so good. I love the extra access and assignments; it keeps me occupied and makes me feel great to know that I'm doing good deeds around the place.

Was it your dream to become a prefect, or did this come by surprise?

Katelin: Both. It was always a dream of mine to be a Prefect, and yes, it was a surprise to me to be chosen.

Zoki: Isn't it everybody's dream? I'd tell you a lie if I rejected the fact I've always wanted to become a Prefect. I just love titles, that's all. *giggles*

How has this changed your time at HOL, if there was any change?

Katelin: It has given me more of a sense of belonging.

Zoki: Honestly the only change I feel is the extra access that I get and the right to attend the Student Committee meetings. As I said, I've already been really active around the place, so this doesn't feel like a huge change.

Any words to those aspiring to work their way up to the ranks of prefect?

Katelin: Keep being active around HOL and Hufflepuff. Make new friends, enjoy the activities HOL and Hufflepuff has to offer. Enjoy this awesome site!

Zoki: Stick to the rules, and keep trying. You can win every battle if you just keep trying, so no matter how hard it is, never give up, and one day you'll achieve your goal.

Any final shout-outs?

Katelin: Nope.

Zoki: Hufflepuff for the House Cup!!! And thank you for the interview. (:
