Quick Milkshake for 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 drops vanilla extract
  • ice

1. Put the milk, sugar, and vanilla into a small Ziploc bag.
2. Place the small bag into a larger Ziploc bag filled with ice.
3. Shake for about 5 minutes, take out the small bag, and enjoy!

OR

1. Pour milk, sugar, vanilla, and 4 ice cubes into a blender.
2. Blend for about 30 seconds, and enjoy.

Lemon Sorbet for 8 (half-cup servings)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
  • You will also need an ice cream maker.

1.Combine sugar and water in saucepan, and bring to a boil over medium high heat.
2.Reduce heat to low and simmer until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly.
3.Cool completely (overnight in refrigerator, or 1/2 hour in ice bath).
4. Add lemon juice and zest when cool.
5. Pour full mixture into the ice cream maker, turn the machine on, and mix for 25-30 minutes until thick.
6. If you want, place the sorbet in the freezer for about 2 hours until it is firm. Enjoy!

This recipe can be used with any citrus fruit. Just substitute the other fruit's juice and zest.
