The Moonlit Dance

by Ellie Warhol

I see nature's beauty pass me
And I don't care one bit

One thing continues to happen
The movement of my feet

Nobody notices me
So I can't help but have fun

The dancing feels so right
So truly sweet

I spin and jump
As the moonlight shines on me

The meadow stays so quiet
Every creature asleep

Music runs through my head
The rhythm suddenly changes

I change my footwork
Then decide to leap

The peaceful sounds end
Everything is loud

A ringing of a bell possibly
Is this an attempt to ruin my fun

Everything feels odd
I am being shaken

Then my memories fade
I hear "Wake up, Hun."
