Hufflepuff Beach Bash Report
Helga's house had quite an adventure last summer! With the classes done and some of the students staying for the summer, and with the threat of the heat of the sun imminent, the Huffle Staff decided it best to spend the summer time in the beach. And the Hufflepuff Beach Bash happened!
Several tents were magically constructed, offering lots of different activities and challenges for the HOLers (students from other houses were invited as well!) to participate themselves into. HOLers arrived in their beach outfits, ready to join the many activities offered to them. There were discussion tents, ranging from the summer Muggle movies to book discussions like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Howl's Moving Castle. It was a rather fun combination, the sand and a book within your reach!
Who doesn't want painting or coloring activity in the beach? The coloring tent obviously was a lot of fun, having the colored pictures voted and the people who won were awarded citrines. It was in demand that seven weeks of coloring took place in that tent. What a lovely sight that was!
The creativity didn't end there! There was also the designing tent where HOLers were challenged to test their creativity by designing beach towels, flip flops, sunglasses and sandcastles. Winning submissions earned citrines and were proudly displayed in the tent. Who wouldn't want those personalized stuff?
And it looked like there was a shortage of seashells in the beach as HOLers joined in the seashell hunt, filling up their buckets with seashells. It didn't end there as HOLers were taken to the mountains, still in search for seashells, that is, with the aid of magic of course. In the end, buckets were filled with beautiful seashells and citrines as well.
With Fels as Hufflepuff HoH, passion for fashion was reflected in the Beach Bash. HOLers were able to show their outfits in many occasions throughout the summer beach bash. There were the sporty outfits at a volleyball game, snorkeling and surfing clothes, pajamas in a pajama party, dance outfits in a beach party and everyone in their swimwear suits. Let's just hope that everyone passes in our HoH's fashion standard.
Of course, what is a beach bash without sandcastles in the sand? With (Prof.) Rorey's pokey stick, HOLers were challenged to many (some were evil!) sandcastle jigsaw puzzles. It proved to be a great activity for the participants and to (Prof.) Rorey as well.
In addition, Badgers had the chance to spread the summer spirit through their works of art, including a greeting card and a postcard. Not only that, they got to explore the rest of the beach searching for beach balls. It was a good thing all the beach balls were found. I hope no one used the Summoning Charm in that activity. And the two kingdoms had trivia-game beach volleyball where the Yellow Kingdom won — with just ONE point!
In the end, I had an awesome opportunity to interview the heads of the summer event, Prof. Rorey Padfoot and our head student Zoki Phantom, what they felt about the event.
WT: How do you feel about the concluded Hufflepuff Beach Bash last summer? :D
Rorey: I felt the Beach Bash was a lot of fun. I think we had a good mix of activities, something for everyone and we had a lot of participation from both Hufflepuff students and other houses as well. I enjoyed seeing members of other houses that participated this past summer fun activities that Hufflepuff has hosted! I can't wait to see what Huff has planned for next summer. :D
Zoki: Fantastic! It was great fun and I enjoyed both participating and hosting the activities. I hope everyone liked it as much as I did, and I'm looking forward to something similar next year. Just maybe without Rorey's evil jigsaws, those were scary. :x
And that was the latest report on the Hufflepuff Beach Bash last summer. Stay tuned and see you in Huff's next summer activity!
