(I just double-checked with a Google search. I found this: Sorcha is means "bright" or "shining." It has deep Gaelic roots and is derived from the Old Irish word soirche or sorchae, meaning "brightness." Maverick ... yes, I just watched (for the umpteenth time) Top Gun: Maverick.
