Quidditch Rocks! HQT, Part 2

By Tarma Black

Quidditch rocks!

The interviews continue with the rest of the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team members. (Be ready to see another House featured in our next issue!)

Now, there were a couple of HQT members who did not reply to my PM. *tsk tsk* I am sure that you will have a great time figuring out which team members for whom I made up the answers.

Would I do that? Yes. Here's a hint: their initials are L.S. and A.K. Of course, they simply might not have answered the questions because they were busy botting... which is greatly appreciated, of course!

SECOND NOTICE:
This is a fair warning to the members of other House Quidditch Teams — you too will be receiving a questionnaire from me, asking you various and sundry questions about Quidditch, which will then be printed in our Wizarding Times!

My first question was, Which is your favourite professional Quidditch team — please use the teams listed in Quidditch Through the Ages. Why is it your favourite professional team?

Allison (Aly) Jameson replied, "Probably the Montrose Magpies; I'm not sure why, but they've always just appealed to me. They are also the most successful team in the league."

Askeron (Asky) Kyle replied with a very staunch vote for the Chudley Cannons: "The Cannons all the way! Even if the last time they won the Cup was in 1892, that doesn't mean that they won't make a come-back this year!"

Lilly Stargazer had another opinion though — she prefers the Heidelberg Harriers. "...they are fiercer than a dragon and twice as clever!"

Whereas I (Tarma Black) definitely vote for the Quiberon Quafflepunchers! "Any team which plays in such outrageous garb (shocking-pink robes), and still frequently wins the League Cup, must have something great going for it!"

My second question for the team was this: Which is your favourite Quidditch move? (Again, please use the QTTA book.) Why is it your favourite Quidditch move?

Narcissa (Narci) Heart knew her favourite move at once. "Because I usually play seeker and it is a move that gives me the biggest advantage, the Wronski Feint is my favorite move; I get 5 free turns!"

Our team rookie, Aly, appears to be showing a strange sense of humour (but at least she has one, right?). "Bumphing; I just think it would be kinda funny to hit a Bludger at the crowd." *g* Why she would take an illegal foul and make it into a 'Quidditch move' is, of course, only because she is a rookie... right?

Both Asky and Lilly, surprisingly enough, had the same answer: "Dopplebeater Defense!"

Now, this isn't so strange for Asky, because she frequently whacks those Bludgers with her mahogany bat, but I don't remember if Lilly ever played as a Beater on the HQT?

And my favourite move is, of course, the Bludger Backbeat. It takes a lot of practice to get that backhanded swing just right, but oh, it is SO effective when done correctly!

My third question elicited quite range of answers! Which is better for Quidditch robes, linen, silk, cotton or leather? Why or why not?

Lilly voted for leather; she said, "As long as we're playing Quidditch, we'll go for the very best! Black leather... is very nice. And besides which, Professor Hartwick is excellent at making sure our Quidditch robes are always clean!"

Aly reported, "I'd say cotton; silk, linen, and leather are just too difficult to clean. I'm just happy I'm not the one who has to clean the uniforms."

Narci went for the comfort (as well as the colour choices available). "I say cotton; it is cooler, breathable, and cleans up very easily. It also comes in a lot more colors!"

Tarma replies: "I'd actually like a mix of materials. Pants of leather and a blousey shirt of silk with a leather vest over it. Leather boots, of course. And under the silk blouse a camisole of cotton... for breathability."

Asky went for linen. "Linen is the most practical materials of which to make the Quidditch garb. Tough, durable, and takes almost all colours, yet it is surprisingly fashionable!"

I continued the interviews by asking specific people certain questions.

4) What is your favourite moment in an official HOL game?
Having all the clues, solving and racing to the snitch.

5) What was your favourite 'personal' moment in an official HOL game?
Playing Mark Mandrake in my first official quidditch game and being 1 square away from beating him. I lost but what a great feeling that I was able to keep up with such a good and seasoned player.

6) Pink or purple? Why?
Tough question because they both are my favorites but if I have to pick, it would pink. It is a happy, perky color and makes me feel happy.

7) Make up your own question and reply to it!
What do I like most about HOL quidditch?
My favorite part of quidditch is when the team is all cheering and working together.

4) What is your favourite moment in an official HOL game?
I've never been to an offical HOL game, but I can't wait to go to my first one! My favorite part of SQL games was probably bludgers. I'm pretty sure they have those in the regular season too though.

5) What was your favourite 'personal' moment in an official HOL game?
Again, my favorite moment of a SQL game was one of the Cosmo-fails where the bot kinda died. Cosmo might disagree, but I thought it was funny.

6) Pink or purple? Why?
Pink cause I like pink better. Haha.

7) What's your favorite part of being a Spiffy?
I like the atmosphere on the team, everyone's so fun and silly. I couldn't imagine a friendlier group to play with. Huff for the cup!

I didn't make up answers for Lilly and Asky for these last three questions. I wanted to, but figured that discrect... discri ... you know, being wise "is the greater part of valour" sort of thing.

So, here are my answers to the final 3 questions.

4) What is your favourite moment in an official HOL game?
I like it when the game has started and the team is starting to flow as a team, past the jittery fingers and nervous stomach stage. It's really great to play as a TEAM.

5) What was your favourite 'personal' moment in an official HOL game?
Easy peasy. Although it wasn't for 'me' — it was when Cosmo Brown played as Keeper some years back, after botting TONS during the weeks before the game, and she was SO HOT it was unreal (although it 'was' real) and then she got MVP. That was a big WOW.

6) Pink or purple? Why?
Purple. What a silly question....

7) Make up your own question and reply to it!
Who are your favourite HP Quidditch players?
FRED AND GEORGE WEASLEY (with OLIVER WOOD right there behind, or with, them).

So, there you are — an exclusive interview with the HQT members.
