Prof. Lucy Lupin (Gryffindor)

Prof. Lucy Lupin is one of our newest Professors this term — however, you have seen her around the hallways, both as a Student Teacher and as a student! We are pleased to take a quick look inside her brain to see what fascinates her about HOL and about teaching!

How did you hear about HOL, and what made you decide to join?
Has anyone heard of Google? Well, if you have, then you would know how I found this site. It was simple, really. I typed in Hogwarts Online (and Virtual Hogwarts), and this site popped up twice.

Why I joined was because it was different from all these other Hogwarts schools. They all are forum only, I didn't like that. It was too much of a roleplaying idea. However, HOL seemed to be a bit more "realistic" than those other schools. Plus, it's much more interactive.

What are your feelings about adding an advanced class this year?
My personal feelings are: I am happy. But most importantly, I hope people will enjoy it. I didn't think I would add another class, in all honesty. But then I thought the World of Werewolves is so vast, and I found so much more information, I had to share it. Since some of my students thought an advanced class would be more interesting, I decided to do so (instead of a full year class).

What is your favorite part about the classes you teach? About HOL?
About the classes I teach: the interaction with the students. I get to read some really interesting stories (especially in Extra Credits). But I also enjoy the fact that I can teach others things that they possibly didn't know (my ego enjoys that part XD).

What I like most about HOL? My HOL best mates Castora and Anya.

Castora was the first person I really got to know on HOL. We became close friends (I hope at least for her too XD), and she is my assistant for my class, which is a big plus. And she is wonderful, and wins many shiny points for Gryffindor.

Anya — actually, I don't know how she can put up with me LOL. From the very beginning, I sent her messages with so many questions (poor thing), I thought she would be fed up with me. But apparently not. She's one of the two reasons I posted my application to teach Lycanthropy (the other being the fact that the former professor disappeared).

Were you worried about taking over a class in your first year, and what made you decide you really wanted to do that?
Yes, I was worried. I mean, I was only with HOL for about three months and, suddenly, I decided to make this bold move. But I really wanted to do this. I really wanted to teach others about Werewolves (those poor misunderstood creatures). However, I also felt confident, because Anya helped me so much and she still does. I am so grateful to have her. XD

Are you considering teaching any other classes next term? If so, what might they be?
I haven't considered it, yet. Who knows? I have two one-term classes (which may be already enough, no?). Plus there are so many subjects already offered out there that I think I may not be able to find anything interesting other than the subject I currently teach. However, I wouldn't mind starting a Photography club — if that were possible. *hint hint* XD

What made you decide to apply for a promotion to Professor? How do you see your life on HOL changing because of this?
I blame it on Anya. XD Honestly, I had a hard time choosing. The main reason was because I knew my points gained from other classes wouldn't count toward the House Cup (I put all this work for "nothing," sort of because I still have a sense of pride when I do my work). But then I thought, I like the title "Professor." I want that title! So I decided to try for a promotion.

My life on HOL? Well so far it's been great. I hope it won't change — lol. If anything, I might end up having another "me" asking questions, and I'll answer: "Go check with Anya; she's patient enough!"
