Baklava Recipe

This is a recipe that I make with my Mom every Christmas and Easter!

Ingredients:

  • 1 kilo phyllo
  • 1 kilo minced nuts
  • 5 eggs
  • 5 spoons of sugar
  • 1/2 kilo of sugar
  • 100 grams of chocolate (usually 1 bar)
  • 250 grams of butter (1 bar of butter)
  • 2 cups of cooking oil
  • 1 kilo of water

First make sure you've minced the nuts if they aren't minced already. Then you will need to prepare the filling &mdash mix the 5 eggs with the 5 spoons of sugar. when the mixture is ready add the minced nuts and mix. Then add the chocolate and mix well.

Melt the butter on the stoptove. Divide the layers of phyllo in groups of 3 and spray them with the melted butter.

In every group of phyllo add some of the filling, and then roll them, after which you need to pour the cooking oil over them.

Mix the water and the sugar on the stovetop to make some sweet syrup. Meanwhile cut the baklava in the form that you would want to serve it.

Once the syrup is ready, pour it over the baklava. Bake it around 20 or 30 minutes, depending on the temperature.

When done, leave it a few hours to cool down and for the syrup to soak into the phyllo. Enjoy!
