Carnival Fun!

by Dolly Bulge

So, as most everyone knows, in Hufflepuff there's been a very fun and exciting carnival going on! Students have been competing in events, puzzles, and challenges in the Fairgrounds to win beloved socks for their Kingdoms.

Five events took place, along with the Fruit Bowl Quidditch Match between the Kingdoms. A new activity started every day and kept everyone involved constantly.

On Monday was the most popular event, the word search. Participants had to find HOL and Hufflepuff related words and alphabetize them. There were 50 words, and most people found all, or close to all of them. Julia Weflyn came in 1st place with all 50 as a Purple Pineapple. Elyranna Reginhart came in 2nd, and Cosmo Brown came in 3rd. Yet, they both got all 50 words, and they both were in Purple Pineapple. Congrats!!

On Tuesday was the supposedly easy Snitch competition. Students had to find out which day Rilla got a detention on, what the detention was, and where it was held from a few posts hidden with clues. All ten entrants received 30 socks because they were all 100% correct. Congratulations to Belle Black, Cosmo Brown, Elyranna Reginhart, Emma Pacifica, Gwen Owens, Pezzie Granger, Rilla White, Shadow Diggory, Shanell Louis, and Talya Mamush!!

On Wednesday, the Hunt for Karl was introduced by Dom. You would have to find out where Karl was out of clues left behind in his room. Ceit Uiseag, a Purple Pineapple, and Cosmo Brown, a Purple Pineapple, both got 100% on this event!! Right behind with one wrong each came Pezzie Granger, a Silver Starfruit, and Shanell Louis, a Silver Starfruit. This puzzle was quite challenging - props to all who participated!

Thursday marked the Hufflepuff essay, where students had to make up a character and describe. So yes, this pretty much was a contest depending on creativity, but unfortunately no results yet!! Looking forward to them!!

Then, of course, was the Cheer Contest. Participants met on IRC to belt out their best cheers and have a blast!! So, I think everyone who tried did greatly... and the Cheer Contest winners were Dom McDermott and Olivia Rictusempra!! Congratulations!!

Overall, the Carnival was a really great thing to get people to participate and just have a great time! Hope another one starts soon!!
