Orders of Helga

We really have some of the most awesome students in the school; recently a few of them were honored with the Order of Helga awards. ere's a little bit about each badger who won.

April 2004 Awards

House Spirit Award: Ceit Uiseag

Where were you when you found out you had won? What was your reaction when you found out you won?
I was in the common room, lounging around eating canary creams (why, I don't know)... so when I found out that I'd won, I was actually a canary *g* I molted pretty quickly, and I think everyone in the castle could see my mile-wide grin when it sank in.

Do you know what you'll wear to your acceptance party?
For the acceptance party, I shall be wearing floor-length sapphire blue robes with tiny little silver threads sewn into the cuffs and hem. *gets all girly and excited*

Now that you've won the House Spirit award, what are you going to do next?
Next, in addition to my usual badgery things, and once my RL schedule quiets down a bit, I think I'm quite tempted to visit the greenhouses and perhaps cultivate a SPROUT seedling. In the meantime, though, I'm going to continue to bounce around the Sett (whether in canary form or not) being a funky badger.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank?
I would like to thank all my friends in Hufflepuff, without whom I would not be the same Ceit... also the members of the Spirit Committee who nominated me for this award, and who voted for me. *sniffles* I'm touched to know that I'm appreciated for being me...that's true Badger Spirit.

Order of Helga - Hardwork: Rachel Sanderson

Where were you when you found out you had won? What was your reaction when you found out you won?
When I found it out I had just come from my Languages of Middle-Earth lesson. I was a bit tired, and when I came into the common room, I met a friend who told me I'd won an award.

What was your reaction when you found out you won?
Of course I was very happy when I realized I really had won. It's really fun. I've worked hard all since I started at Hogwarts, and it's fun that it's so appreciated that I even get an award for it.

Do you know what you'll wear to your acceptance party?
No, I haven't yet decided what to wear. I always have such a hard time to find something to wear among all my clothes. But I guess I'll find something before the party is started!

Now that you've won the Order of Helga for Hard Work, what are you going to do next?
Just because you get an award for something, you don't stop doing whatever-you-did-to-get-the-award. So I'll go on as before, working hard and being a helping hand whenever someone needs me.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank?
Yes, I'd like to thank all of my teachers, who have helped me much during my years here at Hogwarts. I want to thank my friends and everyone else all around Hogwarts for being there for me. And, last but really not least, my fellow Hufflepuffs! I love you all, and you have cheered me up so many times. Thank you all!

Order of Helga - Hardwork: Professor Olivia Rictusempra

Where were you when you found out you had won?
I was in my office, actually, trying to dig out gum stuck in the nose of my bust of Headmaster Armando Dippet. You see, the students had been practicing the forms of waddiwasi and well.... oh never mind, dear, please go on.

What was your reaction when you found out you won?
I was quite surprised. I thought only students won those awards! All of the professors here in Hufflepuff share in the duties and I was embarrassed, shocked, and delighted, to be singled out.

Do you know what you'll wear to your acceptance party?
Wear? Where? A party.... *makes a note to beg Felicia for help*... Well... I just don't know... I'll have to consult the expert.

Now that you've won the Order of Helga for Hardwork and Helpfulness, what are you going to do next?
Continue as I have, my door is always open to those who need help. And if I find I cannot help them, I can certainly try to point them in the right direction.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank?
Oh... Just everyone, really. Every person here contributes in their own way and has made me feel welcome and useful every day. Thank you to the Spirit Committee especially for their nomination and support.

Well, I was in the Spirit Committee's Cupboard, actually. We were discussing awards for April, and then suddenly Dom's like, hey, Shanell should get an Order of Helga for Creativity, so...

What was your reaction when you found out you won?
"Oooooh!"

Do you know what you'll wear to your acceptance party?
Hehehehe... erm, I don't know, perhaps the precious could do me a favour at Kenneth's? *g*

Now that you've won the Order of Helga for Creativity, what are you going to do next?
I am going to display it proudly by my bedside. *g* And then of course, play around with my imagination and come up with more, since it seems people do like that stuff. Heeee.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank?
Oh yes, of course. Thank you Dom for nominating me in the first place, and for giving me the whole idea of drawing for the Quiddy players playing in the Slyth match (I was drawing a snitch, see, and I thought, "Ooh nice snitch, I shall give it to Dom!" And then, "Aha, no! I shall draw more, for everyone!"). Thank you to all the Huffies, without whom my imagination couldn't have run wild like that; special thanks to Pezzie - the inspiration to Up And Down And Diagon Alley! Oh, and the wonderful Badgerettes, who let me write cheers for them. =)

House Spirit Award - Elyranna Reignhart

Thanks for the goodies, Anne <33 Really? You are taking me to lunch with the precious? Wow, I'm really touched!

*After a delicious meal, Ely, who have never been interviewed before, looks nervously at her tea cup while Anne takes out her parchment pad and a very nice looking Quick Quote Quill*

Anne: "Where were you when you found out you had won?"
Ely: "Well I had just came back to the common room after a really hard class of Muggle Studies. We had a lesson named "Spend the day in a Muggle work place" that afternoon, and I wasn't in my best of moods. I was about to sit down near the fireplace when my two sisters, Emma and Julia, jumped on me, hugged and congratulated me for wining! I then went to triple check the announcements board to make sure it was really true lol.

Anne: "What was your reaction when you found out you won?"
Ely: "To tell the truth, I was completely surprised. I never thought I would win this award, and it touched me deeply. I really had a crappy day and it made me feel loved and appreciated and for the rest of that evening it was the best thing in the world"

Anne: "Do you know what you'll wear to your acceptance party?"
Ely: "Mmmmm..... well, I guess since we are in Hogsmeade, I should do some shopping for that. But it probably be something velvety and in dark tones."

Anne: "Now that you've won the House Spirit award, what are you going to do next?"
Ely: "Well I'm going to try hard and graduate with the rest of my fellow first years. Then I'm going to try and get a lot of Quidditch practice this summer."

Anne: "Is there anyone you'd like to thank?"
Ely: "Oh yes! Winning an award like this is only possible when you are surrounded by amazing people that make you want to be in Hufflepuff and have fun with them So basically, without naming anyone in case I forget someone, I would like to thank my sisters, my mental, all the nice people in the Quiddy team and all the great people who hang out on IRC and the common room."
