I think I watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (1964) as a little kid, but I don’t remember it very well. Right now, I’m picturing bits and pieces of the movie, but whether I know the plot from the movie or the wonderful Christmas carol, I’m not sure. Either way, I am going to search it out this holiday season and relive the nostalgia. I would’ve seen it on TV, not when it first came out, but during one of the many re-runs they show during this time of year. But now, I think I’ll have to go looking for it online.
I love the claymation style. Yes, it’s old fashioned, but that’s the charm! I imagine that when these films first came out, the style was revolutionary; I can see little kids piled in front of TVs, mesmerized by the clay figurines moving on their own. Nowadays, the style may be old, but it brings us back to a time when we were young and also mesmerized by these films.
