This month's HOT 10 Songs is full of Christmas Songs! Most of us knows the songs by heart, as they are all-time favorites, which have been in HOT 10 many times throughout the years. Additionally, you are going to find out who is the author of so many famous Christmas songs!
1. All I Want For Christmas Is You — Mariah Carey
This song is one of the most well known Christmas Songs in the world. It was released on November 1st, 1994, and was written by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff. Since its release, it has achieved a huge success, with over 14 million copies sold, and many famous singers doing a cover to it. However, its first real debut was in 2019 as it was the first time this song took #1 in HOT 100. This year makes it a second time this song managed to lead HOT 100.
2. Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree — Brenda Lee
This song is not the first one of Brenda's to land in Hot 100! She has had many other successful songs such as 'I want to be wanted'. 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' was written in 1958, and was written by Johnny Marks. The biggest success of this song was to peak at 2nd position in Hot 100 twice in a row (2019 and 2020).
3. Jingle Bell Rock — Bobby Helms
The song, which is currently on the 3rd position is 'Jingle Bell Rock' by Bobby Helms. This version was released on November 28, 1957 and was produced by Paul Cohen. This is it's first time in TOP 100.
4. A Holly Jolly Christmas — Burl Ives
The 4th place belongs to Burl Ives, who has ever landed in HOT 100 with just this song. It was first published in 1965 and was written by Johnny Marks. The highest position this song was in December 2004 and it was #3.
5. It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year — Andy Williams
This song was published in 1963 and was written by George Wyle and Edward Pola. The current position it's the song's highest place ever in HOT 100, however it is not the first time Andy Williams is in the HOT 100. The song 'Can't Get Used To Losing You' was one of his highest successes, with the song placing on the #2 in April 1963.
6. Feliz Navidad — Jose Feliciano
One of the most recognizable Spanish Christmas Songs. The song was published in November 1970, and was written by Jose Feliciano himself. Although this is the first time this particular song to be in HOT 100, many of his others songs managed to land in this ranking, such as 'Light My Fire' (#3 place in 1968).
7. Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow — Dean Martin
This version of this extremely well known Christmas song was released in October, 1966 and was written by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn. There is not a lot known about this and his other songs and how well they done on Billboard, however, it is known that 'Let It Snow' was in HOT 100 for the first time ever in 2018.
8. Last Christmas — Wham!
One of the most known songs of the century is currently on the 8th place on Billboard HOT 100. The song was first released on December 3rd, 1984 and was written by George Michael, one of the singers from Wham!. As we know, Wham! has had many other successful songs, which could be found in this ranking, such as 'Careless Whisper' (#1, 1985).
9. Run Rudolph Run — Chuck Berry
This song was written by Marvin Brodie and Johnny Marks, and was published in 1958. This is currently the highest score in this ranking this particular song got, however Berry has other successful songs, such as 'My Ding-A-Ling' (#1, 1972).
10. The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You) — Nat King Cole
'The Christmas Song' was originally written by Robert Wells and Mel Torme in 1961. As with many other singers I have talked about, he has other songs, which were more successful than his Christmas one. Although none of his songs was ever #1, 31 of his songs were in HOT100, such as 'Ramblin' Rose' (#2, 1962).
