Wizarding Times

<Rorey> hehe no problem! :)
<Herms> Mmk, an intro thingy: Greetings witches and wizards! Today I, Hermionie Miranda, will be interviewing 5th year Badger extraordinary Rorey Padfoot!
<Herms> Glad to have you, Rorey!
<Rorey> Thank you for having me!
<Herms> Okay, question #1:
<Herms> What are some of the positions and things you're involved in?
<Rorey> Oh gosh, let's see. For HOL I am the Head of the Arts Department, a Student Teacher to 4 classes (currently) and a First Friend. For Hufflepuff I am a Prefect, I am Co-Head of the Cheerie-O's, the coordinator of the Wizarding Times, a Badger Buddy, I help keep count of the Citrines, and I'm part of the Mod Squad. I am also involved in the PenPal Club and I am an assistant there as well.
<Herms> Wow, that's a lot! With all this, plus real life, how do you keep from bursting into flames?
<Rorey> I try to keep a very firm schedule. I have a spreadsheet that helps me keep/stay organized with due dates and such.
<Herms> That's cool... I want one! Okay, some of us in Hufflepuff want to know more about the responsibilities and duties of some positions. What do you do as a prefect, PPC assistant, and on WT?
<Rorey> As a Prefect, my duties can vary. I help with looking out in the HOL and Hufflepuff hallways, seeing if there are any ickle firsties lost or needing some guidance. I also help run some games in the Sett to help keep things active and fun.
<Rorey> As the Wizarding Times Coordinater, I promote when we are accepting new submissions for a new issue, answer any questions people have for the issue, and turn in the submissions to the editors.
<Rorey> In the PPC each assistant has an area or two to look after and my areas are the Open Diary Journals and the Artistic Center. Basically I will try to keep both sections active by giving topics the club members can participate in, and modding the Artistic Center.
<Herms> Sounds interesting! Now, this is something everyone wants to hear... How do you manage to stay as HOL's top point earner?
<Rorey> Well, if I told everyone, then they would know my secret! :) I will say though, this is the first year I have earned this many points, so this is a bit abnormal for me. But it's my fifth year and I wanted to make it an exciting one. We'll have to see if I can keep it up for the new few years.
<Herms> Ah, I see what you mean. What is your favorite part of HOL?
<Rorey> I think my favorite part is meeting all the people. It's much more entertaining when you get to meet students in your house and in others. It's really the people that make HOL such a second home.
<Herms> Yes, I agree. Well, what was your first year like? Anything like our current ickles?
<Rorey> I'm not sure as I was VERY quiet my first year here. I basically did my homework and that was all. I didn't even know the Sett was around the first half of my first year. Once I joined the Sett though, I started coming out of my shell. Which is why I highly encourage all Badgers, and non-Badgers for that matter, to join the Sett as we are a fun House to be around.
<Herms> Right! How are you doing with your OWLs?
<Rorey> *sigh* OWLS are rough, but so far I have received an O or E in all of them, and I have only two more to go, so wish me luck with those.
<Herms> Well, you know I will! Do you have any plans once you graduate? Or, do you have any hopes for later on?
<Rorey> Well, after graduating, taking into account that I pass my N.E.W.T.'s, I hope to stay on as a Professor, if they will allow me to stay on as staff.
<Herms> I hope I see you as staff! Say, what are your four classes that you teach?
<Rorey> I am currently teaching, Astronomy, Advanced Astronomy, Advanced Muggle Puzzles, and A Visit to Hogsmeade.
<Herms> *cough-I LOVE HOGSMEADE-cough* Do you know anyone who might follow on your footsteps, HOL-wise?
<Rorey> lol I'm not sure anyone would really want to, but if there are any out there I wish them all the luck. :)
<Herms> Great! Any last comments or shout outs? Quotes or tips? Something to end this interview well? XD
<Rorey> I'd say I'm very happy to have had an amazing five years here so far and look for another five years. Make every year here at HOL the best you can and you will be surprised what you get out of it. Thank you very much Herms for a wonderful interview.
