Destroying Avalon, by Kate McCaffrey, is quite possibly one of the best pieces of literature I have read in a long time. The story concerns a girl named Avalon who has to move from her quiet and almost perfect life in a country town to a large city. Avalon has to attend a new school and make new friends; however, she becomes a victim to a vicious case of cyber bullying. She must try to overcome this problem and all of the troubles it is causing her and her new friends.

McCaffrey deals with many serious issues, such as bullying, sexuality, family problems, depression and suicide. Because of this, I would recommend this book to be read by a teenage or older audience.

One thing I hate most about books are predictable story lines; however, Destroying Avalon will keep you reading with its unpredictable twists and revelations.

And for those of us connected with our emotions, this book is a real tear-jerker.

My rating of this book would be a 5/5 as it is just outstanding to read!
