A Short Little Limerick

By the Sorting Hat (a.k.a. Brie)

Red amongst silver and blue amongst black
there sat a cacophony of students, all aghast
at the spectres of pearly whiteness
who floated nonchalantly down the Hall
and who whispered their greetings
to welcome the new firsties in fall.

The prefects all scoffed
Who are we to be amazed?
and as they returned to their lectures
all the newbies eyes were aglaze

Under the green and silver banner
lie the most devious students of the school
the strong-minded and the cunning
though not to say cruel

Yet there's a platinum haired boy
surrounded by the others withal
A well aimed firecracker from the Weasleys
puts a stop to Malfoy's drawl.

And down by the staff table
there sits a table clad in red
their bravery and their courage
goes without anything being said

To the right of these folk
lie the wittiest of them all
Under the blue banner of wisdom
are the proud Ravenclaw

To the right of the Gryffindors
is a house where their game
is their hospitality and their amicability
that puts the others all to shame

There may be some conflict
and there may be some tears shed
but in friendship and unity
Hogwarts is most definitely ahead.
