Holiday Shopping: A Holiday Logic Puzzle

By Rorey Padfoot

When Rorey saw the stack of catalogs on her dining room table, she decided to get a jump on her holiday shopping! She found five different items (including a bag of sweets) that would be perfect for various friends and family members. She ordered each item from a different catalog and each order came with a different free gift, (in one case, a coin purse) that would make a perfect stocking stuffer. Each company offered a different discount (10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, or 30%). Rorey was happy to get some holiday shopping done before making the pumpkin pie.

From the information provided, can you determine the items ordered from each catalog, as well as the free gift and discount received with each order? From now until the end of December, I will give anyone 10 beans for sending me (in an HOL message to Rorey Padfoot) the correct answer to this puzzle. Be careful as you only get one chance to send in your answer.

1. The perfume wasn't purchased from Edward's. The company that offered a 25% discount did not include a free bracelet. The company that offered a 30% discount didn't send a free pocket sneakoscope.
2. Rorey ordered the perfume, snow globe, and sweater from Crystal Ann's, the company that gave a free sneakoscope, and the one that offered a 20% discount, in some order.
3. The order from Thompson's (which was either the one that came with a free key ring or the one that included a free pillbox) had a higher percentage discount that the one for a blouse.
4. Rorey ordered the blouse (which didn't offer a 10% discount) and the sweater from Golden Frog and the company that sent a free key ring, in some order; one of these two orders had a 30% discount.
5. Carlton's (which offered a higher percentage discount that the company from which Zoey ordered the perfume) isn't the company from which she purchased the snow globe.
