Hufflepuff Awards

By Tarma Black

Awards handed out to Badgers (and Badger friends) in Summer of 2006 and through the Fall 2006 Term.

Hufflepuff House is happy to present a list of Badgers and Badger-Friends who have won awards since the end of the last school year. This list starts in July, 2006 and ends with the awards just recently announced for January 2007.

July saw the House Spirit Award (HSA) going to Professor Esmerelda Knotwise and the Order of Helga-Creativity (OOH-Creativity) given to Jake Patil and Melody Greenspell.

The HSA award in August went to Askeron (Asky) Kyle and we had a winner of the Badger Cub award - Isis Crane.

September awards went to Anne Damhsoir who received a HSA, Peter Aldridge who received an OOH-Courage and Lilly Weasley who was recognized as the Badger Cub for the month.

The HSA in October was given to Melody Greenspell and the Badger Cub was Delia vanLoenen. October saw another award being presented -- Badger By Another Name (BBAN) -- which was awarded to Ayahzy Nahki.

November awards were: HSA to Professor Opal Dragonfly, Badger Cub to Neville Prongs. Our very own Peter Aldridge had received a Quidditch MVP award (in a game played in October) so we announced that too!

The December awards were plentiful in number and well earned! Somehow a dastardly deed was done to the Sett and, with the keen eyes and vigilant attention of many folks, we were able to go 'home' again in a very short time. We had two BBAN - Mark Mandrake and Moiraine Lee. The Order of Helga-Hard Work went to Professor Olivia Rictusempra, Professor Anya Chutney, CheekyXIVx!Cosmo Brown and Lera Kamerat. Thank you all, for restoring our Sett to us.

Other December awards went to Danya Ameritu for Badger Cub, HSA to Jake Patil, Bright Badger to Tarma Black and the Golden Foster Awards to Keaira Filan, Melody Greenspell, Mopsy Prewett and Tarma Black. Our very own Cheeky person, CheekyXIVx!Cosmo Brown, also was given the Headmaster Award!

January 2007 wrapped up the term in fine style with the regular awards and some new ones for our hard-playing Badgers. Our Badger Cub of January was Andie Tucker. The Bright Badger was Rorey Padfoot and the Hungarian Horntail winner was Jake Patil!

New awards were the Scholarly Badger awards. HOL points for each 'year' amongst the students were counted and the ones with the most points for their year were noted.

1st year Scholarly Badger was Danya Amaritu. The 2nd year Scholarly Badger was Rorey Padfoot. The 3rd Scholarly Badger year was Mopsy Prewett. The 4th Year Scholarly Badger was Tarma Black. The 5th Year Scholarly Badger was Rachel Sandersen and the 6th year Scholarly Badger (despite all rumours to the contrary that she doesn't study) was Felicia Hartwick.

A huge surprise waited the Badgers in the Sett January 11, 2007. Our Head of House, Professor Olivia Rictusempra, had created some awards and she posted them:

"For their unwavering joyful attitude and undeniable friendliness in everything they do, I am pleased to award the Head of Hufflepuff Award of Friendship to the following Badgers:

Emma Pacifica
Elyranna Reginhart
Felicia Hartwick
Kath Snape
Kiriuta Yuzuki
Lilly Stargazer
Narcissa Heart

For their excellence and extra hours of work (completely above and beyond what is normally asked of them), for which I am VERY grateful, I am honored to offer the Head of Hufflepuff Award of Merit to:

Cosmo Brown
Jake Patil
Tarma Black

For their dedication and work that is not always known or seen by everyone (except me, I'm a very powerful witch, I SEE ALL!), I am delighted and just plain happy to give the Head of Hufflepuff Award of Appreciation to:

Professor Anya Chutney
Professor Esmerelda Knotwise
Askeron Kyle
Mopsy Prewett
Talya Mamush
Samuel Craft"

That rounds up the awards given to Badgers and Badger friends for the past seven months.
