A new term has started and all of the ickle firsties have been terrorizing *cough* I mean, gracing us with their presence. We have some pretty spunky Badger Cubs roaming the halls this term. ;)
What happened during the break? What did I do with all that extra time? I worked, of course! I'm a Badger! I had to graduate students from the Fall term and then welcome the new students and set up my office for my classes. Now I need a vacation. From my holiday. So to speak.
Me and my Deputies, Professors Anya Chutney and Angela Amaunet, had the pleasure of hiring new Prefects, Talya Mamush, Julia Weflynn, and Cosmo Brown *hugs them all*, as well as planting new Sprouts, Peter Shechem, Lilly Stargazer and re-planting Shanell Louis and Leana Morrison. *wipes the sweat from her brow*
And it wouldn't be the start of a new term if Parker didn't somehow manage to find the sock drawer and take every single one of them! My apologies to the students; we try to hide the drawer in a different place each term and that Feisty 'Geist always seems to find it. *shakes the Rake of Pain in his direction*
Well, you can be sure all of the Hufflepuff Staff and the Head of the Department of Games and Sports have been cooking up some delightful games and contests to replenish our empty sock drawer. Professor Tambaqui Balthazar is running a Sorting Hat Song contest, with students sending in their own original lyrics for the Hufflepuff Sorting Hat Song.
Hufflepuff Quidditch Team Junior Captain and Sprout, Tarma Black, is again picking the brains of all the Badgers with her HP Trivia Quiz. Prefects Emma Pacifica and Julia Weflynn have been running the Adopt a Newbie program. I can't tell you what a huge success it's been, showing the Badger Cubs around and familiarizing them with the Sett.
See? Busy Busy Badgers! I could go on and on. Everyone contributes their time and energy into making Hufflepuff and HOL a wonderful place to be. A big THANK YOU to each of you for your effort and friendship.
Oh, and one last thing. If you've not seen the HQT in action, I urge you to run, not walk, to their next game. The Spiffiest Captain, Kelsey Willow and Co-Captain, Talya Mamush, have been whipping (no, not literally!... okay... maaaaybe) the HQT into fearless competitors on the pitch. Badgers for the Cup!
Whew! I need to rest a bit now ;) I see this wasn't actually a list-like list with numbers or letters and such... but... it *did* list things! Please read on and enjoy this lovelovelovely issue of Wizarding Times; a waaahoooo and thank you so much to Cosmo Brown and her amazing layouting talents *hugs*
See you in the Halls!
