Sighs, Seasonal
Fashion Victims!
By Dolly Bulge
So, as I was wandering around those corridors, I realized something ... more fashion victims! I mean, there ARE those exceptions, where grandma gives you a sweater and then comes for a visit ... but some of those clothes I've seen everyday are No No's!!
1.
Fashion: First I've seen much tinsel and garland used - for
belts, bracelets, necklaces, and boa type things.
Victims: Mostly those young girls, and all females trying to make
a statement.
Good Uses: One good thing about tinsel - It DOES catch the eye.
It gives a sort of flair that you don't want to miss.
Suggestion Uses: How about for all those girls, don't try to get
people staring at all those little accessories! Tune it up a
notch, and put it somewhere less eye catching. Try using tinsel
as a ribbon to spruce up braids, try hanging it from a base to
use as an earring!
Another Source: Try glitter and shimmery articles! Maybe some
hair glitter, maybe a sequin belt, or maybe just a silky looking
piece of leather for pants!
2.
Fashion: Tights and tutus - used to relax in. Question: Doesn't
it itch?
Victims: Boys. Usually those ones who are just bored or the ones
who take ballet watching all those tutus and tights.
Good Uses: Well, it depends. No neon pinks PLEASE! Those pale
pinks are at least subtle, and make your face look a little
rosier during the Christmas season!
Suggestion Uses: This ones tough.. Ballet lessons - a possible
exception - hanging around afterwards in tights, NOT. Try wearing
this as a Halloween costume. Maybe you could cut out some bands
of the tights - Ties maybe, would work as a very nice elastic
Another Source: Try some nicely fit Calchiaro jeans. Calchiaro
came out with a new feel to jeans that's like a tight-type
material. Nice fit isn't bad during the winter, if you have those
jeans baggy and low it looks like you might freeze. *brrrr* - not
saying you need tight tight jeans, just not hanging down to your
feet baggy.
3.
Fashion: PLAID PLAID PLAID!!
Victims: Everybody! From teachers, to prefects, to 1st years and
newbies!!
Good Uses: Plaid is nice, with all the color and kind of crossing
design. Plaid pants or a skirt is nice, but wearing all plaid is
too bursting out. That's a tip - plaid is nice in spread out
quantities. A small portion at a time is better.
Suggestion Uses: Try a red and green plaid scarf. Try a blue and
green plaid shawl. Try Black and Blue plaid pants. Just not all
of this together!
Another Source: Try a black and white striped top, or another
pattern. Pattern goes with Plaid, and color goes with plaid. Even
a simple white sweater with blue and green plaid pants works!!
All in all I have to say, this holiday season wasn't all that bad. I'm impressed! Keep up the good work!
