Ahh, the month of love. The story of Valentine's Day started long ago and isn't exactly clear, there are many theories. But this is a day to recognize those who are special to you.

I was recently watching a movie and the discussion of how you explain love came up. We all know love is a feeling, but how do you know its love? Being the scientific person I am, I like to have concrete proof of something. How do you describe a feeling? All you do is describe more feelings. Love isn't a mathematical equation.

The movie goes on to explain how love is something you do. That special card sent when you're feeling down, an IM waiting for you in the morning to say how much they miss you. Those are real things, those prove love exists.

I was complaining to a friend how I've never gotten flowers from a boy. Then I sat back and looked at it, do I really need flowers? What do they show? My boyfriend has done so many other things that mean more than flowers. Flowers die, but comforting words and surprise pictures live on forever. You'll always remember they drove an hour out of their way just because you sounded down on the phone or that they didn't laugh when you told them you cried for an hour over a book. You won't remember if they got you something or not on Valentine's day.

Love is what makes you smile just thinking about them, love is what makes you antsy when you're going to see them, love is just being content to sit and do nothing with someone.

Enjoy your Valentine's Day and I hope you have someone special to celebrate it with.
