"Losing a fellow badger does not mean we stop digging our home." - her Sageliness

As you all know, we have recently lost a wonderful professor and a dear friend - known affectionately to us as Taia. It was very painful to find out about it, and even more so when it sank in and the realisation hit us all, some of us even refusing to believe it. She had shown us so much warmth and care, it seemed impossible to believe that she had left us so young.

But she had.

I never really got to know Taia. We chatted on a few occasions, but we were never really close. Even so, her cheerfulness and love radiated through, not just to me, but to everyone else around. She was always the sunshine, ready to shine through our dark clouds. She was a sweetheart. We all hope dearly that she is in a better place now, away from all the pain and suffering in this world, and on to somewhere that is all care and love, as in her nature.

I believe that all seemingly bad things have a brighter side to it, if you could only just find it. Even the dreariest of days has a tiny light at the end, which tells you to look to tomorrow, and it will be a better day. With Taia's passing, at least we now know that she is free of her suffering, and will probably be smiling down on us all.

We shouldn't cry all our tears dry. I'm sure Taia would not want that. She would want us to look to the light, and move on with our lives. Let our sadness pass, but keep her in our memories always. Let the image of her when we close our eyes remind us of her love and energy, and let us radiate it too. When we are at our lowest, let us think of her as our kind, caring professor, and let that cheer us up. For that is what she did for us when she listened to all our troubles, always smiling, never complaining, chasing our darkest problems away. Let us forever keep that memory, and for her, always look on the brighter side.

Taia, you will be remembered.
