The Scoop On Love POtions

Allison: What do you think of love potions?

Isabelle:  Love potions are lame, they make people fall in love with you who wouldn't have originally fallen in love with you at all. Doesn't it make the person who gave it to their object of affection feel sort of bad and kill them inside a little that the love their boyfriend/girlfriend feels for them isn't real?

Allison  Some people are desperate...

Isabelle:  Yeah, well, some people suck.

Allison: What do you think of them being banned? Do you think that in any way this causes the opposite effect? that people use them more since they're banned?

Isabelle: No, it's not the sort of thing people use more of because they're banned. Since it's not affecting the person who uses it but rather the person they use it ON, the banning to me is more effective than, say, the muggle banning of illegal drugs. And it's made love potions a lot less easily accessible.

Allison: Do you think someone can fight a love potion like you can fight the Imperius Curse? Like there are some people who are more vulnerable to them?

Isabelle: Yes, I do think that people with a stronger will can be less affected by a love potion than a weaker person, because it's the same sort of magic as the Imperius Curse. The whole against-the-person's-will thing, I mean, if said person's will is stronger, it'll be harder for the potion to take action.
If not impossible.

Allison:Would you ever try to use it? Maybe on a foe?

Isabelle:  Nah. I have better things to use on foes.

Allison:  like what? just curius

Isabelle:  My wits and natural talent for arguing.

Allison: Just one last question. I read in a muggle paper that aphrodisiacs can be considered a sort of "love potion thingie" by muggles. It states that in fact, it's just a mental trick, that there is no real influence of food or smells in our conduct. What do you think about that?

Isabelle:  I think there are some muggle foods that can be considered aphrodisiacs, and I believe that they do stimulate a certain part of your brain, but that's for muggles.

And wizards have better love potions.

Allison: How could aphrodisiacs and love potion be related?

Isabelle:  They're not, to me. Love potions have magic involved and aphrodisiacs are what the muggles call "science".

Allison: How do you reckon love potions work?

Isabelle:  I don't know exactly how they work, because they're BANNED, but I do know that like any other potion they must have magical properties.

Allison: Perfect . Thank you very much for your time :)

Isabelle: Haha. You're welcome.

I would like to thank Isabelle for her time and patience during this interview.
