Prof. Tarma Amelia Black Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Wonders of the World - Dinosaurs ..... Marching on ..... There is so much that has been learned about dinosaurs, and a lot of it is (admittedly) rather dry. Some of the less dry aspects of dinosaurs, and the study of them, is that there was a huge debate -- no, make that there have been and continue to be huge debates about dinosaurs, where they lived, when they lived, what kind of creatures they actually were, what kind of creatures (if any) eventually descended from them, all kinds of 'what' and 'when' and 'who' and 'why' and 'how' about dinosaurs. Yes, duels have even been fought over these topics. A quick Google search, asking about duels, gives me this: "The most well-known "duel" fought over dinosaurs was the "Bone Wars," a fierce rivalry between paleontologists Othniel Charles Marsh and Edward Drinker Cope, who competed to discover and name the most dinosaur fossils in the late 19th century." In the meantime, this is a generally accepted and currently perhaps accurate chart of the different ages of the earth and who was around at that time.
