Prof. Tarma Amelia Black Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Welcome to the Sett and Summertime Mandala Magic. As we approach the end of Summer holidays, with a few weeks left to enjoy 'leisure', it seems a good time to relax and do something fun ... We've had Mandala Magic a few times now, here in the Sett. Quote A mandala is a complex abstract design that is usually circular in form. In fact, "mandala" is a Sanskrit word that means "circle". Mandalas generally have one identifiable center point, from which emanates an array of symbols, shapes and forms. Mandalas can contain both geometric and organic forms. Quote The literal meaning word Mandala means circle, and circle mandalas are also one of the most commonly available form of mandalas. ... Ancient Hindu scriptures depict mandalas as a period of creativity, of powerful existence, and a symbol of deeper connection with the self and the universe at large. I am posting some Mandalas for you to colour in. You are welcome to use any method of colouring that you choose. Of course you are welcome to print them and hand-colour, then post what you coloured in that way. If you want to say why you coloured your mandala as you did, please feel free to do so! In case you participated in previous years, and think some of the pictures I use look familiar, they are! I looked at some of our former Mandalas - and some of them are so lovely that I'm using them again. Have fun colouring them in afresh! Who knows; maybe I'll compare what you do this time with what you did then. When you post your pictures, please remember to keep them 600x600 or smaller. You earn a nifty 30 Diamonds for each one that you color in and post before the end of August, HOL time. If for accessibility reasons you can't color in the mandalas, please just let us know and an alternative can be worked out -- we might give you something to research and write up about, but we will come up with an alternative! 3
Prof. Tarma Amelia Black Posted August 28, 2024 Author Posted August 28, 2024 Our 'Welcome to Summertime Mandala Magic' is over at the end of August. Remember to color in some Mandalas, if you haven't already done all of them!

Then I see what everyone else has done, and all of them are all so wonderful and lovely. 2
