Monthly Fireside Game: Guessing Game

Recommended Posts

Hello! For this month, we will be playing Guessing Game. How does it work? I went to a random number generator website and generated the number to be guessed for this week.

For the first week, the number generated can be from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 500. Submit your guesses to me in a Sett PM titled "Guessing Game Week 1". You can only guess up to 3 times. The deadline of the guesses is on December 7, 11:59 PM HOL time.

For the diamonds, you get 10 diamonds for participating. The participant closest to the number gets to earn 15 more diamonds, the second closest 10 more diamonds, and the third closest gets to earn 5 more diamonds. Everyone is invited to join!

And with that, the first game for this month is over. Who prevailed? The right number is

It is a very close battle, with the fifth place (February Fortescue) having only a difference of 16 from 37 and the fourth place (Mia Fountain) with only a difference of 13. Wow! Great job to the participants. In third place, we have Prof. Tarma Black with the last guess of 29. Actually, she guessed 42 (closer to 37) in her first guess (days ago) and decided to guess two more times minutes before the deadline.   In second place, we have a Gryffindor ickle Rose Pottermore. Her last guess is 31. Great job! And the winner of our first game is Prof. Will Lestrange who guessed 33, only a difference of 4 from 37. Congratulations, Prof. Will!

The lovely participants earned diamonds:

February Fortescue - 10

Mia Fountain - 10

Prof. Tarma Amelia Black - 15

Prof. Will Lestrange - 25

Rose Pottermore - 20

Off to Game 2! Who will get lucky this time around? Or did Prof. Will did some Arithmancy codes and spells? :o Similar with the first game, the second game's number can be from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 500. Submit your guesses to me in a Sett PM titled "Guessing Game Week 2". You can only guess up to 3 times, if you choose to do so. The deadline of the guesses is on December 14, 11:59 PM HOL time. We invite everyone to join! :broom:

In third place, we have our ickle from Gryffindor, Rose Pottermore, who guessed 51, a difference of 30. In second place, our last week's winner, Prof. Will Lestrange. His guess is 99, a difference of 18. The winner is her first time in joining the game, Scarlett Drake! She guessed 88, just a difference of 7! That was close! Congratulations, Scarlett! February and Mia are tied in fourth place, with a difference of 32 from the right number.

Mia Fountain - 10

Prof. Tarma Amelia Black - 10

Let's proceed to Game 3! Will Scarlett continue her reign? Or will it be a comeback for Prof. Will? Or maybe Rose can take the first place at last? Or will February, Mia, and/or Prof. Tarma enter the Top 3? Too many interesting storylines. :o

Of course, since it is the third week, let's take it up a notch higher. The third game's number can be from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 1,000. Submit your guesses to me in a Sett PM titled "Guessing Game Week 3". You can only guess up to 3 times, if you choose to do so. The deadline of the guesses is on December 21, 11:59 PM HOL time.
