She was finally relaxed. She laid out on the chaise lounge by the pool, listening to waves of the nearby ocean breaking on the shore and the seagulls soft cawing are they circled the beach looking for food. “This is the life,” Felicia thought as she reached over to the small square table where her charmed glass that kept her ice tea cold rested.

The Spring Term was finally over, as well as all the grading, posting of grades  and closing of classes. The students were sent on their way to enjoy their summer and shortly after Felicia took the earliest flight to Newport, RI and back to the family summer home.

It had been a while since she had been home, usually she stayed back at the school to take part in the summer activities, but she decided after the cold, long winter she was going to finally feel the hot sun beating down at her and where better to go but Newport.

As she picked up her glass of iced tea she realized it was empty.  With a soft sigh, she swung her legs off the edge of the chaise and slipped her feet into her sandals and at the same time slipping into her beach coverup. Felicia walked back to the manor and smiled as she remembered all her memories of summers from long ago.

Felicia walked into the kitchen and placed the glass on the counter when out of the corner of her eye she spotted a file on the other side of the counter. “Oh bugger!” she exclaimed and she reached for the file. She didn’t need to open it to find out what it was. She knew… The House Spirit Awards announcement.

After finding a notecard in the nearby antique secretary desk, Felicia scribbled a quick note to Dom. Her plan was to ship the file to him and have him send it back to the school with Vinny, her owl,  whom he was owl sitting for the break.

Before slipping the note and announcement into an envelope, Felicia took a look at the Awards…

Hi, there!  I am not sure if this is the place for a thank you message, but I do want to say "Thank You" for the wonderful "Not a Llama" award bestowed upon me recently!  I treasure it, and will try to be worthy of it in our upcoming academic year!  Sincerely, Prof. Opal
