I will start this announcement with an apology to my House. Life at the Hartwick abode these many past months have been absolutely stressful/joyful/chaotic and for those reasons I have not been very active. Life still is a whirlwind of issues, but I have finally found a day or two to finally catch up on things... thank Merlin for Spring Break.

And so going back to the beginning of the Autumn Term, we do have one award to present.

To Selynah Lovejoy, (1st Year) I present the Bright Badger Award for earning 476 points in the month of October.

So much to choose from, it's going to be hard to choose. Many of them bring back some good memories to me, having taken a number of them in the past.

Once you pick your classes and get approved.... come back here and let us know what you decided on. Who know, there might be a Badger or two taking the same class.

We try to have all registrations approved or rejected in a timely manner, but we do have real life commitments, so it may take a few days.

Looks like my Badgers were quite hungry while I was gone. They must have been studying late to get those assignments in on time.

To make sure that members of this forum are genuine students of hol.org.uk, new accounts have to be approved by an administrator before being given full access to the Common Room.  I usually check once or twice a day to see if we have anyone registering to the Hufflepuff Common Room.  To do this I must check with the HOL database to make sure you registered in HOL first.

 Every time registration approvals are done, I will post here with a list of the accounts that have been approved.

First I will post who has been Approved.

Next I will post those who tried to register but was not on the database.

Then I will post the names that have been rejected.  I will give the reasons why they were rejected, usually it's because you were not registered on HOL, or you didn't use you full HOL name.

If your account has been rejected, fix what was posted and try again.

While the main HOL site is down, I cannot verify members so they will not be approved/rejected until the main HOL site gets back up (so please be patient if you are waiting to register)! I always check with the HOL official members pages to see if in fact the person signing up for the Sett has in fact signed up for HOL.

 If your signup is invalid (not an HOL member or your user ID does not match your HOL name completely), your account will be deleted without notification (though you can try again with the correct display name/user ID once you do have a proper HOL name).

The Head Office is working on getting the Forum up and running again, so it may be a day or so before I can return to approving (or rejecting) anyone for The Sett.

Diamond Hoarder - For the person, Badger or not, who has the 3rd highest number of Diamonds earned in the months July - June.
Diamond Hoarder Extraordinaire - For the person, Badger or not, who has the 2nd highest number of Diamonds earned in the months July - June.
Diamond Hoarder Specialist - For the person, Badger or not, who gathered the most Diamonds during the months July - June.

Badger By Another Name Award - this goes to folks who are of other Houses (or no house affiliation) who have shown themselves by deed or word or action to have distinct Badger traits.

Badger Cub Award - A first year Badger (this is their FIRST year here, not a repeating first year) who is showing a lot of activity in the Sett as they first join HOL.
Badger Sett-er - for the regular and active Sett Visitor, and it may be a Badger or ... maybe not!
CheekyBadger - Haven't the foggiest of what this could be *halo*
House Spirit Award (HSA) - an award given to a person that the Spirit Committee feels shows an exemplary amount of House Spirit; is always a Badger.
Hungarian Horntail Award - A poll is done for HSA winners for months September - January & February through June (ie months of the school year) with a Summer Option award (see below) -- whoever gets the most votes wins this award. It's like a HSA magnified.
HSA - Summer Edition - the House Spirit Award given out in summer months (July and August); this person is not considered for the following terms' Hungarian Horntail award.
Ickle Firstie Award - First years only may apply - for the active Ickle who participates in a lot of Sett (or HOL) activities
NotALlama Award - Folks who think of fun things to do and then follow through on them (this is not the same as OOH-Creativity because it could include redoing old ideas, or starting (and continuing) an RPG that many folks participate in. Basically this is for folks who help to keep activity in the Sett ('Hufflepuff') - active.

The Reserved Badger - this award is for the badger who is "reserved" ... doing his or her assignments, not wandering the Sett but still earning points for Hufflepuff....

Order of Helga - Courage Award - for something that required more than the usual amount of courage, keeping in mind that Badgers are pretty brave
Order of Helga - Creativity Award - for brilliant ideas that are created and acted upon, usually positively impacting Sett activity but something affecting the whole of HOL
Order of Helga - Hard Work Award - Badgers work hard; whoever gets this award is someone who is probably suffering an extensive brain damage
Order of Helga - Humourist Award - no idea hahahahaaaheeeheheheeeee *snort*
The Parker Award - for the mischievous Badger

The 100 Clubbers - those folks who made The Hundred Club in all months September - June or meet the alternative criteria for earning the award.
The 4,000 Pointer award - Given to that Badger who earns 4,000 or more House Points in a school year.

Bright Badger - This is given to the student or post-graduate Badger who earned the most points in a month (as shown in their HOL folder). -- Given out for months September through June
Bright Badger: Professor Edition - This award is given out to the Professor who not only conducts one or more HOL classes and is active in the Sett, but participates in other 'point' earning activities -- like the HOL library or HOL classes. Whichever Professor, if any, who fits this criteria and has earned the most points in a given term

The Scholarly Badger award - given to that person who is of that 'year' and earned the most House points in the Term for which the award is given and/or for the entire year.

Scholarly Badger - Third Year
Scholarly Badger - Fourth Year
Scholarly Badger - Fifth Year
Scholarly Badger - Sixth Year
Scholarly Badger - Seventh Year

Badger-of-all-Trades Award – This award is given out to the staff member or student who demonstrates willingness and ability in more than one area of HOL. It's for that person who just can't sit still and must have their paws in more than one type of project. (Given out by the Head of House)
Head of Hufflepuff Award of Appreciation – For that Badger who has done something very much deserving of the Appreciation of the HoH (Given out by the Head of House).
Head of Hufflepuff Award of Friendship - For that Badger who has shown us what Friendship means (Given out by the Head of House).
Head of Hufflepuff Award of Merit - For that Badger who deserves recognition from the Head of House--for a variety of reasons (Given out by the Head of House).

The Alektaia Khalikiope Memorial Award – For that Badger (Staff or Student) who has given so unfailingly and whole-heartedly to Hufflepuff that we cannot imagine what the Sett would be without them (Given out by Head of House--nominations may come from anyone).
